Jack, 22, first got involved with XtraVert after picking up a recruitment flier for the first wave of the programme in 2009. Here's what he's got to say about working with wood, skating and being part of the team...

What do you like most about working with wood?

It's clean and nice to work with, it is very versatile and can be used to build nearly everything, including of course skate ramps, ours are made of it!

How long have you been skating for?

About 9 years on and off, with breaks in between.

What’s your favourite skate spot?

My local park near Watergate Bay and a few other bowls in the middle of nowhere

What’s your best trick?

Miller flip on the vert ramp

What’s your worst injury?

Smashed my knee doing a bonous in a bowl, got it all wrong and hit the ground like a bag of s**t!

What’s your favourite thing about skating?

Well, you can get around on it as well as take it with you, skating anywhere you end up. Skateboards also make great pillows!
