Come down and check out the Sutsu mural ramp on 6 August

Newquay’s newly reopened Wooden Waves will soon be home to a one of a kind mural courtesy of ethical lifestyle brand Sutsu.

On Saturday 6th August illustrator and Sutsu collaborator Jake Blanchard will be bringing his unique style of illustration inspired by the environment, music and mythology to one of the ramps at Wooden Waves.

Visitors will be able to watch the mural take shape throughout the day and the Sutsu team will be filming the entire process.

“As an ethical lifestyle brand we were keen to support the social enterprise model XtraVert is trialling at Wooden Waves and wanted to bring a little of Sutsu’s creativity to the park," explains Sutsu Creative Director Jon Wallhouse. "We’ve collaborated with Jake on our clothing range and his work is always inspiring so we’re exciting to see the end result in this unusual location.”

In addition to Jake’s work in progress there will be a series of skate, BMX and scooter games throughout the day.

XtraVert has introduced a nominal fee of £2 to use the park between the hours of 9am - 6pm in order to help the continued refurbishment of Wooden Waves and has a series of events planned throughout the summer holidays.
